Dark Matter Magazine LLC
Intro
Dark Matter Magazine LLC is my self-initiated senior thesis and ongoing independent biannual print magazine. Launched in 2022, it uses the scientific concept of dark matter as a metaphor for the invisible emotional, psychological, and instinctual forces that shape human behavior and identity. Each issue explores taboo subjects (love, grief, trauma, desire, suicide ideation) through raw storytelling, photography, illustration, poetry, prose, and experimental graphic design. Styled as a high-end commercial fashion magazine, it critiques consumer culture through détournement and brand parody (Her Mess, Baalenciaga, Prana). Three issues released, with Issue 04 launching December 2025. The completed thesis edition will be exhibited and sold at the Center for Visual Art in Denver, Spring 2026.
